Something Fun and New

Every once in awhile it's fun to go out and try something new.
I got to go out with some friends and we did a photo shoot with some lights.
We dragged a chair out there, some lights, and a generator, and we had a blast!
I loved getting to try something new and editing some pictures in a whole new way.
It also helped that we had gorgeous models too.

These girls look like they walked out of a Hollister ad.
So so pretty!

I'm sure it looked pretty funny with me carrying this huge purple chair on my head as I hiked the red rocks ha ha ha.

We also had two adorable gymnasts come and show us their moves.

Such a fun shoot.
I can't wait to get some lights of my own and do this more often.
Until then, I will keep using the sun as my main source
...it's free  :)

Workshop with Simplicity

So last month I was lucky enough to attend a workshop by
Angie Monson with Simplicity Photography.
First off, she is an amazing photographer, so I was kind of start stuck the whole time like a total dork ha ha.
And second, it was fun to hang out with her and the group of girls for 2 days.
I wanted to post a few images I took during the workshop.

At the beginning we started off shooting in the studio.

We had some of the most darling models!
Later in the day we tried outside and played around with the urban feel.

It was fun because my friends little girl ended up being one of our models.
It was nice to say a quick hi to her and then get to photography her adorable daughter.
Love those blue eyes!

And at the end of the day we ended up shooting in a country setting.

I love bokah! This picture makes me want the 70-200 lens I rented so much!
Too bad it's so much money.

It kills me that this girl was like 12-13....I didn't look this adorable and cute at that age ha ha ha

And at the end of the night we played around with a few lights as the sun was setting.

I am so glad I was able to attend this workshop and learn all the information Angie taught us.
It has made me more excited to edit photos all night long :)

Sneak Peak for the "Bateman" Family

I was very excited to go out and photograph my sweet niece for her baptism shoot.
She was so beautiful in her new white dress.
I loved that she was such a good client too
(not being biased since she is my niece), but she just listened so well!
I love you sweetie!

This is by far one my favorite shoots!
(again, not being biased ;)

Ok her expression here just kills me!
What a little model!

She looks like she is going into an enchanted forest in the one on the right.

We had some amazing light and I was loving it so much!

Despite getting bit by tons of bugs, she kept her composure well and kept posing for me.
(the next day she had about 15 bug bites on her arms, darn bugs!)

We ended the session taking a few in front of the temple.
There were so many people I had to try to get her at an angle where we had a clear background.
Sooo, I laid on the ground, like FLAT on the ground and started shooting.
Some people walked by and said, "Can I get a picture of you laying there taking a picture?" ha ha ha
Kind of embarrassing, but I guess we do what we need to do to get the shot right photogs?

I loved her big brown eyes!

And this last one is my favorite.
I told her to twirl...
And it just reminds me of those princess in all the fairy tale books.
Love you so much Livy-lou!

Sneak Peak for the "Harper" Family

Hello everyone! :)
Geesh I feel like I have been missing for awhile.
I spent a fabulous trip up north with my family.
Plus I have been working on some fun things lately...like a web site, and a new logo.
I am so excited to show you all my new logo and to get everything put together.
After summer comes to a close I will be doing some fun giveaways and perks on sessions so keep checking back. There are going to be a few changes around here but really good changes of course :)

Any way, enough of my personal news, let's move on to the 4 adorable boys I got to photograph.
They are so darling and so well behaved (I know this because these boys are my neighbors and we love to have them over for play dates)

I love their blond blond hair, and their Mommy dressed them so cute too!

I love how the background matches their outfits perfectly.

These boys totally worked my camera and gave me tons of different expressions.

I think my favorite is of the littlest one chilling under the big tires....love it!
We had a fun idea to have a tent in our photo shoot since these boys go camping all the time.
I found an easy tutorial HERE on the blog Cakies, and got all the supplies.
The only problem was that my husband forgot to bring home his drill,
so these boys Dad quickly drilled 4 holes for our make shift tent.
Hooray for awesome neighbors!

I think the book "Where the Wild Things Are" was pretty fitting for these four.
The littlest one would only hang out for a second in the tent, but at least we caught this one of him hanging out with his brothers.
Loved hanging out with these guys and their awesome Mom, see you soon for a play date :)

Sneak Peak for the "Edgel" Family

This poor family had been trying to book with me forever, but something always kept making us change the plans.
I am glad we finally got a week where it all worked out, and even better, we had amazing weather too.
It was a joy photographing this family, I could tell they all shared a close bond and really loved each other.
They kept joking and laughing the entire time and it made for a really fun shoot.

Aren't they just a gorgeous family!

These two have been married 17-ish years, can you believe that?
They look so good and you can just tell that they are still in love.
The best was I told them it was their turn for a few photos without the kids, and the Dad said,
"Okaaay, we don't get a lot of alone time with 4 kids so I guess this will count."
And then pulled his cute wife in for a hug.
Can I just say I LOVE photographing people in love...love it.

These two kept me laughing, they were pretty funny with their little remarks.
Such handsome boys, and the older one was even willing to wear a purple shirt just for his Mom ;)

Just maybe one my favorite KISS pictures evahhhh!

A few sweet ones

These girls were perfect little models for my camera.
Just look at those expressions.
And talk about a FULL head of hair on the 7 month old, I loved the top pony tail on her.

And of course if you have been following my blog, you know I love me some "sun shots"

Such a pretty way to end the night.
Thank you Edgel family, I had a great time and hope you did too.

Sneak Peak for "Vernon" family

This is the Vernon family and they were so much fun!
I think we laughed the entire time and their kids were so adorable.
The best was when their little boy looked at me and said, "I want to hug you."
Talk about feeling loved!
We had a great time downtown getting some family shots.

LOVE this picture and loved their outfits.
Lately I have been having the most fashionable clients :)

So Mom calls the baby "lil squish" and I love that nick name for her.
She was so good natured and lasted the entire shoot.
And the older siblings were so happy to look at my camera and smile, thanks for making my job easy ha ha.

Mom told me that this is a constant scene in her house, her older kids making "lil squish" laugh.
I was glad I could capture it for her.

I think these stairs went perfect with their outfits.

K, you two are an adorable couple!
I asked them to tell me something fun about them and the husband said,
"Well, we're definitely not in love"
and then they laughed and laughed.
It was pretty cute.
(oh and did I mention they make pretty cute kids, darn tootin!)

A few sweet moments.
I really had a hard time narrowing down what to post.
There were lots of fun ones.

The mom asked if I could bring chalk for an idea she had...

I loved the idea and think it turned out adorable.
Thanks Vernon family for asking me to hang out with you for the evening and capture you guys,
I had a blast :)
